Unlocking the Soul's Purpose in 2012

March 13-18, 2012 with Sherene Vismaya Schostak and Sam Sadasiva Geppi at the mystical and intimate ocean side resort: Casa Violeta (featured on the Today show).

The peaceful setting of a pristine private beach on the Mexican Riveria provides the ideal inspiration for this intimate six-day retreat.

4 hours of Astrology and Jungian Psychology workshops daily. Plus special yoga, meditation and journaling rituals.

The truth of what is really happening in life, in the Eastern sense, is that you are a spiritual being. You come here to Earth, with a body and a psychology, in order to evolve toward your full spiritual awakening. This truth includes the concept of reincarnation. Past and future lifetimes are not sources of speculation in the Indian system and culture: they are assumed to be true.

In this way, the circumstances of your life now have been determined by your actions in past lifetimes, and in this one. How you handle these circumstances determines your future lifetimes. This process is called “the law of karma.” Vedic – or Indian — astrology is the process of reading your soul’s karma, and is deeply connected to spiritual practices.

The spiritual implications of this are vast. In a very literal sense, Vedic astrology is considered to be a “soul mapping”. In Vedic thinking, you are formed by the “seven rays of light” — the visible planets and their energies. As your life on Earth is a journey toward spiritual perfection, you can better understand that journey through each of the seven principles — the seven visible planets (and the two shadow planets: the Lunar nodes of Rahu and Ketu)

Sam’s course will take you through the sky and the story arc of creation. The sky is the Kal Purusha - correlating to the seven chakras. The stars refer to the cosmic stellar forces. The Nakshatras (lunar mansions) form each sign. Sam will work with the individual charts of the retreat participants to illustrate the depth of the Vedic teachings and how they reflect individual karma and purpose in this incarnation.

Sherene’s course will explore Jungian archetypes and how they relate to soul mapping in 2012. We will also use our individual horoscopes to apply the themes that are being triggered collectively during this very powerful time of transition and transformation.

Jungian Workshop Themes:

Neptune in Pisces: Dissolution, Disillusionment, Surrender and Understanding the Power of Limbo and Liminal Spaces.

Jupiter in Gemini: Dark and Light Aspects of the Magician; Trickster: Duality in the Horoscope; The Bluebeard archetype in relationships.

Saturn moving from Libra to Scorpio: Eros-Thanatos; Moderation-Extremes; Creation-Destruction.

Pluto in Capricorn: Dante’s Inferno; Collapse/Rebirth/Restructuring of the Patriarchal Structures in our Psyche.

Chiron in Pisces: Subliminal—sublimation and the Sublime; The 7th Chakra; Telepathic Communication and Mediumship; Healing the Victim Archetype; Addictions.

Sam Geppi:

Sam Geppi is a Vedic Astrologer, writer, teacher and author of The Ascendant 108 Planets of Vedic Astrology as well as regular contributor to various publications including the Elephant Journal and LA Yoga. He is a certified Vedic astrologer with close to twenty-five years of Vedic study and experience. He is a teacher through the ACVA and regular lecturer at Vedic astrology conferences. His writings on 2012 and Vedic astrology have been featured on MSN. Sam has recently developed the “Universal Astrology” System” approaching astrology from a holistic perspective in which the universe is seen as a divine matrix that creates all of life, rather than heavy, dark forces we must overcome through our “free will” and effort. The loving divine universe is there to support, not limit or oppress you.

Sherene Schostak:

Sherene Schostak, M.A. is a Jungian psychoanalyst, and author of Surviving Saturn’s Return: Overcoming the most tumultuous time of your life (McGraw Hill) as well as the The Fate of Your Date (Chronicle Books). She is currently the resident astrologer at Elle UK magazine and Elleuk.com. She has been in private practice in New York City for the past sixteen years consulting, writing and teaching. She specializes in depression, anxiety, addiction, creative blocks and eating disorders. With a solid foundation in clinical and psychoanalytic training from her graduate work at New York University and the New School for Social Research, Sherene has gone on to develop and employ her own unique approach to Jungian psychotherapeutic modalities and somatic healing work inspired by her yearly pilgrimages to India.

Personal Conjunctions by Philip Sedgwick

From Philip's newsletter: Cosmic Blip

In outer solar system news, online posts note some new Kuiper Belt discoveries near Pluto. As yet, I’ve not seen any data, but should something amazing be posted, you’ll be one of the first to know. Also in Kuiper Belt news, astronomer Mike Brown has been posting again. I’m waiting for part three of a series he has going about the dwarf planet 225088, nicknamed Snow White. As soon as the last post is up and I have a chance to assimilate the new found facts, I’ll be writing a Galactic Times about our latest planet. One thing for sure, Snow White is not a very good avatar/handle/nickname. More on that soon.

Meanwhile personal planet conjunctions are a’plenty today and tomorrow. Today Venus makes a superior conjunction with the Sun, which means she’s on the other side of the Sun from the Earth. These are not uncommon, but they are also not every day. For instance, the last one occurred on January 11, 2010 and the one following today happens on March 28, 2013.

Tomorrow, Mercury and the Sun align, marking the longitudinal midpoint of Mercury retrograde.

So, today and tomorrow the personal planets between the Earth and the Sun make conjunctions with both the Earth and the Sun. This direct alignment focuses matters mundane (Earth) related to communication (Mercury) and what one values in a Venus kind of way, such as social matters, personal resourcefulness, relationships and economic concerns.

Putting these conjunctions together, despite Mercury retrograde, this is a great time to value what you have to offer and establish a soulful connection with the worth of all your inner resources. If in a position of pitching, being hired or soliciting funding for an invention, feel it, own it, believe in it, and then pitch the tarnation out of it. Yes, it’s Mercury retrograde, but if you can nail down a contract or agreement, get it done, preferably tomorrow, using today as a negotiation opportunity window.

Determine what matters, figure out your part in the priorities you have in life, then make your position crystal clear. Yes, the market has gone psychotic, so don’t apply its waffling as a litmus test. This is about clarity of real life priorities, the certainty of your talent and resources and the impeccability of communication.

Should be fun and maybe, maybe even producing unexpectedly positive results.

Also it might be good to book a consult, ask your questions, buy a DVD and see if there’s anything else in the website’s store that suits your needs.

More soon on our newest new planet.
